Cupping

CUPPING

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a suction “cup” is applied to the skin with the application of a pump. Its practice mainly occurs in Asia but also in Eastern Europe and the middle east.

It is believed to draw blood to the area and pull away the fascia from the underlaying muscle, creating heat to stretch, manipulate and breakdown  connective or scar tissue, allowing better Range of Motion (ROM), tension release and an overall improvement in mood and well being.

Cupping is known to leave coloured marks in circular like patterned bruises, these usually subside within 1-2 weeks and are generally not painful during or after the treatment.
